Distinct Sounds to Distinct Sights
Each note has a picture
New Mexico is glowing with creativity. Each note, each brushstroke, or spraycan can never be duplicated in exactly the same way. It is our pulse. It is also forever unique and a product of our consciousness. In that way perhaps our souls, our emotions, our ingenuity is a form of real physical matter or an energetic force that plays a role in nature. Something to be studied by physicists and not annexed to the walls of a studio or classroom. I often twiddle my thumbs while listening to music during my prep time at my teaching job contemplating this. Obviously I have a million things to do as a teacher, but the thought kind of pesters me when I’m trying to concentrate. Recently I’ve taken to stepping away, for an evening or two, from my family and professional responsibilities to explore the magnitude of creativity in New Mexico. It is unlike anywhere I have ever been. Diverse, culturally rich, flowing in and out of the state like a breeze. Almost unnoticeable. I bring my camera. Here are some is a taste of its pulse. It is growing in me and I intend to show you.
